The Shutters are Up

To date we have not done very much to spruce up the exterior of our house but I think the little changes we've made have had quite an impact. Aside from trimming the hedges every once in a while, we replaced the front porch light and painted the shutters and front door. Check out the difference the new darker color makes...

Down the road we have big plans to make changes to the outside the house including painting the exterior brick, spray painting the rod iron on the porch, and painting the fence line on one side of the driveway. Eventually I want to add some flower beds, but for now we're enjoying the ease of the hedges. We've tossed around the idea of building more of a substantial front porch and extending the roof line because it really changes up the look of the house. Many of the ranch homes in our neighborhood have some great looking ones to get ideas from. We'll see!
